Fondation MBÛRÜ

Accountability to Affected Populations

Accountable, first and foremost, to them

Accountability is not limited to reporting to donors: it is owed first to the women and girls we serve. This is Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), to which the Foundation is committed.

1

Participation in decisions

In Mbaïki, the very choice of activity was made with the women concerned; in Bangui, parents and mentors take part in following up the beneficiaries.

2

Access to information

Explanatory workshops for families, public reporting of results at the retreat, presentations at the launch and at World NGO Day.

3

Feedback collection

Regular meetings between parents, mentors and the Foundation, recording of testimonies. To be formalised: an accessible and safe feedback channel, and a log of responses.

4

Responsible resource management

Line-by-line budget tracking and spending in line with the forecast (zero variance over the 2024-2025 financial year).

CHS 2024

Aligned with the Core Humanitarian Standard

The Foundation claims alignment with the commitments of the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS 2024) substantiated by its practice, in particular Commitment 1 (community participation), Commitment 4 (access to information) and Commitment 9 (responsible resource management).

Commitment 1Commitment 4Commitment 9

Commitment for 2026

Formalise a structured accountability mechanism

An accessible and safe feedback channel, a log of feedback and responses, and documented reporting back to communities on the adjustments decided. The design of ELLES & NOUS already provided for a complaint mechanism handled within forty-eight hours; the task is to activate it and extend it to both programmes.
